“Hay que endurecerse, pero sin perder la ternura” - Che Guevara

I’ve been reading a lot about Naoki Urasawa’s feminist approach to his stories reflected in his strong female characters. But his male characters denounce the same feminism in a different way.

Seriously, can we just appreciate the sheer, unabashed tenderness these guys exhibit:

Most of the time it’s not a protective, heroic type of tenderness associated with the male gender - just a harmless, prosaic, friendly, I’m-here-for-you type of tenderness.

So. Fuckin. SWEET. ;3;

Although this sketch is quite old (it’s from 2010) I was shocked that I didn’t upload this yet, since I’m quite eager when it comes to Naoki Urusawa works.

This is my first - and still unfinished (shame on me!! ) - fanart to 20th century boys. I got in touch with the manga some years ago and I was totally in love with the art style and the whole story. I’ve read the manga several times (and I do own 9 volumes of it but it’s SO hard to get one of these in germany D: ) and I feel like re-reading it again as soon as I’m finished. Honestly, Urasawa’s works need a lot more attention here!

My friend went to Tomodachi Land and all I got was this lousy cup

A recent burst of renewed love for the series made me take a picture of this custom-made mug I got from a friend several years ago. It’s one of my favorite cups

Even if I get a shiver every time I stop and look at it.

Can Naoki Urasawa do a 20th/21st Century Boys Spins off…

…which just follows Kamisama and Kyoko after the events of the manga.

It would mostly be Kyoko doing silly faces.

It would be called “Kamisama waits for the Next Bowling Boom”.
